Hi! :}

I've been trying to find my feet with colouring, but i've been having a few teething problems. I'm mainly happy with this up to now (apart from some silly anatomy issues) but i think the colour, especially on her face looks messy. Can anyone give me any advice to straighten this out?

I don't want to resort to using the blurring tool or gradients, i don't really wat it to look smooth exactly, i just want it to look finished if that makes any sense :bashful:

thanks in advance!

Hey there, I cant see too much wrong with your actual colour choices. As you said, your anatomy is a bit off and your linework could flow alot more. The reason I bring these two things up is because it doesnt matter if your the most fantastic colourist in the world...a poor sketch will bring it down. Your light source is ok, but if your going to show a thick outline, make your colouring simple. Otherwise paint over the outlines and build up your colours.
Base colour - shadow 1 - shadow 2 - highlights. It's hard to give good advise not knowing what medium/program you are using as there are tricks for each of them. Anyway, practice makes perfect. : )

Thanks for the advice!

I'm using photoshop if that's any help, but i'm only using the standard brushes and i'm not too sure if there are any good ones to use or places you can download them from.

You're right about the linework of course :dur: . Next time i'll try and do a better job of it.
