this is the first time i've used painter, so this was an exercise to get used to the brush differences between painter and photoshop.

I guess a higher resolution version would totally rock my world.

looks like it was done with z-brush, i'm not sure to understand all the pic but btw i like it :confident

i believe this was painted over a 3d mesh rendering. One of the 3d images on his webgallery shows the same character in grey shading.

still a very nice image, i might add. And so is the 3d model :)

thanks for the replies. yup this was originaly a 3d model; let me dig up some of the process stuff, and i'll do the whole start to finish thing.
