White C, Belial I rally like those, especially like the moody blues you've got going on White.

lowpolymatt- awesome! Love the mood set and the capture of chaos using "suggestive" detail. Strong piece!
Ideaspark- Also very cool! I dig the pallette you used and the subtle pose of your character... That'd be cool to see a detailed design of that dude, too.

A good inspiration for this topic, to me, would've been the 2nd Rennaicence (spelling?) episode 2 from the animatrix. Man that whole entire episode made my blood boil with excitment and I found myself releasing strange yelps of joy and pleasure from the horrific yet rediculously cool apocolyptic battle scenes with the machines. I think id rather face a hord of T-800s and Hunterkillers than ever have to end up against the matrix minions such as the sentinels!

Updated: Well heres my attempt, bit late but ah well.

The survivors wait for any kind of outside contact. Fighterplanes in the distance, could they be coming already?

ditto Hazard, that is an intense scene, i've watched it a few times, I think Goran's piece has a similiar feel

tried a quick sketch - realized I didn't know what the sides of a skull looked like, especially around the jaw, so checked some refs and built a box to get the skull at that angle. ended up finishing this one since i went to so much trouble. bad thing is I know its cropped too close to the bottom of the jaw, that was an unrecoverable accident.

There was an old scottish tradition that as warriors gathered for battle each man would carry a stone to the field then, after the battle, each survivor would carry a stone away. The remaining pile served as a memorial to the dead.

I don't normally do the photoshop thing (particularly because I know very little about the program), but I thought I'd try it today since I had a few spare moments. Hope ya' like it.
