I've been having a problem more and more frequently with my tablet. Before, if I restarted the computer a few times, the problem would go away, but now it isn't and I worry something is broken. What happens is that I will hover the pen over the tablet, and instead of the cursor simply moving across the screen, it acts as if I'm pressing down on the pad, and draws a big line. Also, if I DO touch it to the pad to try and trigger something aside from drawing, it doesn't respond. Does somebody know how to fix this frustrating problem?

hey!

by drawing a 'big line' do you mean a line without pressure/size sensitivity in photoshop, even though it's checked? if that's the problem, i usually find that if i close a few extra programs or clear the ram somehow, it works better.

another thing you could try is removing and then installing the tablet driver again, that's worked for me in the past.

hope it works out for ya, *sends a get well soon wacom card*

My wacom pen broke a while back, it was always as if i were pressing down on it. Like even if it was only near the tablet. Pens cost too much to buy of their site. I got my whole tablet for less than the pen's cost! I'm going to save up and buy a bigger one.

Yeah, BlueMech, that's exactly what's happening to mine. I guess I'll try to reinstall the tablet driver as Nova suggested, but the problem is definitely not having lots of programs open. I chiefly use the cheapo Procreate Painter that came with my tablet, and that's the only one I would have open, and it would still do it. I assume it's a problem with the pen, then, but I'll give it a shot. Thanks a lot for responding!

had the same problem, using opencanvas. so annoying every time i changed colour, id move the cursor off the colour pallette and it would drag to the edge and select full saturation red DAMMIT.

pull the nib out (some pens u will need needlenose pliers) and make sure theres no dirt or sticky stuff. and dont have a mobile/cell phone or anything electronic next to your pad.

hope you find a solution. mine just fixed itself somehow....got a new computer, maybe it IS a hardware/ram issue?

You can save yourself a reboot by doing this:

Start->Run
Type cmd and hit enter (black text window should appear). If cmd does not work, try typing command
Type net stop tabletservice && net start tabletservice and hit enter.

This will reboot the tablet service, saving you a reboot of the entire computer. No guarantees that this will fix anything, mind you...

I recently had a similar problem.. I called the 800 number in washington and sent it there via fed-ex. They say they will repair it for free if it's less than a year old.. I didn't even have to prove it so you might try that as a last result.

I think your pen's screwed. I had the same problem and posted it on the Wacom board. The service guy told me something (I forget what) in the pen might be messed up, something about connections shorting out. It happens if you drop your pen or get water in it or something. The best thing to do is to send it back and get it fix.

Thanks for the help, guys... I've got a new pen coming in the mail, so I'm crossing my fingers, hard.
