Your drawings seem to be getting stronger with each new post. The gestures of those first two sketches done in blue are the most dynamic. Many of the loomis mannequins seem a little static but they look good proprtionately. Keep up the good work. Filled sketchbooks will definitely pay off.

Your Pencil work seems to be getting more confident and loosening
You are searching out form more instead of thinking of contours.
Keep up the good work!

Well, you're drawing. And that's good. Improvement is imminent. The anatomy studies you did seem to be from books like 'anatomy for comic book artists'. Nothing wrong with that, but if I were you, I'd study from a more general anatomy book. (comic book anatomy is already stylized).

looking good, definitly improving with the linework, and your started to use mores solid confident strokes - keep that up man.

suggestion for ya: we seem to be alike in the fact that you have a lot of ideas it seems, but never really put them forth into action all the way - I found finding a HUGE artwork book (got mine from my g/f who is in art classes in college) and then drawing LOTS and LOTS of repetition for it will give you more confidence to start finishing out stuff and even working on your own original stuff.

helping me alot, maybe it will help you as well.
keep it coming man!

d4ff,
I admire you drawings.
They show promise and reveal a the strong desire to work hard to become a very good artist.
I saw on the other thread that you made the comment that Photoshop did not draw pencil lines very well.
You have discovered the fact that Photoshop is not the best drawing or painting program.
It is very good at touching up or applying and adjusting areas of color.
On the otherhand, Corel's Painter program is excellent as a drawing or painting tool for artists.
In Painter you are given an enormous variety of options,
including all the common drawing and painting tools and surfaces.
Pencils behave like real pencils.
And just like in real life, you can choose different kinds of pencils,
colors, thickness, as well as the kind of paper or other surfaces
on which to draw.
By switching tools you can experiment with watercolor washes
or oil paint details.
You can start with the mouse
but the ultimate setup is to use a tablet with a pressure sensitive pen.
There is more information as well as examples of Painter on this forum.
I hope this helps you find your artistic way.
By the way,
you don't need to apologize for your imperfect English.
It is clear to us what you are trying to say.
Just keep drawing and posting and your English will get better along with you art.
Darrel
