Edge Control. I've seen the term thrown around when discussing certain old masters and such, but I'm not sure exactly what's it's referring to. I understand the two words, and have a vague notion of what they logically mean when grouped together...but I'm still not really sure what exactly they're referring to in terms of painting.

So, if anyone would be so kind as to enlighten me as to what the term means and perhaps the names of a few painters who you feel are exceptional in this aspect of their art. :) At least then I'll know what it is I'm supposed to be studying/looking for.

Thanks in advance. :)
