Here's the text to go with it:

So, When I started designing my creature, I wanted to stray from the obvice choice of creature making, which is, "SUPER MONSTER". Which if anyone knows my work they know I can do. Instead of that path i wanted to choose a character that would have the chance to help countinue the tolkien stories with a character that seemed to have alot of character to him, but as many of tolkien's characters... you can't tell if this character is nice or naughty. I think the horns give him a evil feeling, but his pipe gives him more of homely feeling.

The character lives in dense bogs(treeless swamps). He belongs to a species of other boggers, but they don't really take fondly to social gathering. They get agrivated if they are in contact with the same person for too long. They write books, which usually make no sense, to common folk. They speak fluently in most all middle-earthean tongue from reading books and scriptures. They're known also for coming out of their bogs and taking long hikes through different kingdoms, buying and selling books, then returning to their homes.

They are alot more skilled at fighting than they appear. They usually fight passively using set traps and projectal weapons if needed(spears).

Boggers seem to never sleep and often become slight insane over time because of this, and also because of some bog gases cause hypnotic effects.

Once a year they have a gathering where they mate quickly and move on. There is a 5 to 1 male to female ratio, so many boggers don't even bother with going.

You have your own style of drawing, that's for sure, and I like it usually. I'm not sure why, but to be honest, these are IMO not as good as your usual work. That could be because I usually see your work in black&white. I think for these coloured versions, you need to add more detail as has been said, and a background I think. The background doesn't have to be detailed - just.....something. But a background that underlined the story of the character would be nice I think.

And speaking of the word 'character'...

I think you could ditch a couple of instances of it there... ;)

I like the progression in your latest pieces I've seen davi. btw, have you ever taken any life drawing classes? I like your style and characters, but I think you would benefit from them, just because of the speed one has to draw the model and especially the gesture. Not trying to put you down, just help u out. Maybe they offer some classes at your local junior college?:)

Great improvement once again, and hope to see more stuff from you! Great use of imagination btw!:D

iwasink: May i ask what brought that up? I fell fairly content with my figure drawing abilities... Also i'm drawing boggers, if the anatomy was skewed it was probably for the purpose of the design...

mtomczek: thanks mate! I would really enjoy bogger fan art :) I want them to grow into the next fantasy species. The next guide to fantasy characters better have, Humans, Elves, Dwarves, Orcs, Boggers, and Hobbits. :|

I was just wondering? The boggers anatomy, didn't make me think about that. Its just that I was thinking about all the posts I had seen from you and it made me think about life drawings. How I've never seen any from you.

And so then, I thought, "man if this guy is this good, without life drawing classes, think about how much better he would be with them."

Not tryin to insult, or anything, just thinking about your stuff. I'm sure your life drawing skills are remarkable, but since I haven't seen any, then I can't really say!

That's why I said that! no harm meant!:)

that frog creature guy. looks swift and ready to go, but that gian looks like he can tear him a new one. The only thing I would suggest, would be to make the giant's club bigger, and if you do another one of these. It'd be cool to see the frog on the giants back. About to stab the huge bastard. Colored and everything. I can already imagine it!!!!:D

very cool, I like the pose of him sitting on the dead ogre

as a design suggestion, I think that the blank eyes in the uncolored version add to the feeling of not knowing what side he belongs to. I'd like to see a colored version with them as a pure yellowish color :)

Heres my fan art piece of the bogger. My idea for a bogger hunter. Carries only his knife. its till wip but i thought I would post it up for people to see what i have done so far. Prismacolor markers: 20% gray, 30% gray, and Blond wood.

Sorry for the scan, the color is off for some reason... :(
