hey guys :)

back from berlin workshop i wanted to make a new sketchbook. cause i kinda wanna finish with my past as an artist :D or something like that :^^:

anyways, i´m still 16 and i´ve seen that i have to live for my art and not my art living for me anymore.

i dont have my own webspace yet so i can only post with the friendly support of my buddy josef knoll :D (thx buddy ;) )

unfortunetly i dont have too much good things on :D

but i´ll try to update everyday

so here are 2 sketches


at the last workshop day, richie told us about the last task. we should draw a picture with everything we learned. so we did a lot of portraits and my experience was kinda philosophically. i learned something about myself so this was how i got the inspiration for my last piece in berlin

next one was from my online sketchgroup. the topic was witch hunt. big influence from marko from what he drew at the workshop. i had 40 mins for this one and i kinda fucked up the torso :^^:

Hey Black_Lotus!

Nice one, you got ur sketchbook one line!!!

I like your work, always have done, the Marko influence shows, but it does too in some of my work. :)
The winged humanoid is cool, nice pose you got going there, that would look so cool if finished more. The guy screamings cool as well. The first pic of the guy standing - the anatomy is nearly there, you need to define the figure a bit more the shoulders and especially the legs!!!

When Marko reviewed my work, he told me to get the anatomy down right. Learn the structure properly, then the designs on top of that will be a breeze.
So, I bought a book on anatomy, and it has become an invaluble source. Now I can understand properly whats going on in the human body and what I want to achieve with various poses etc. You say your no master at anatomy, but niether am I, but we could be. If you havent got an anatomy book, go get one. It can help so much towards the dynamic poses you seek.

yeah you know thats the thing about anatomy, havin good teachers or books you can learn from.
my buddy (josefk :D) gave me a list of must have antomy books. i guess he talked with mentler about that. i´ll pm you when i´m not pissed anymore :D
i still got no book to learn from but i´ll use this list as a weapon of mighty squirrels

so i try to close myself from influences only from michelangelo and leonardo. i´ll do anatomy studies the next years and try to learn from the old masters cause i think the best way to learn is to learn from the source itself :D

your way of drawing is good...sometime you make some mistakes with proportions ....but you ll increase it. Perhaps can you increase your outlines when you only draw lines a bit like marko durdjevic........

Hey MArk,

These updates are cool.
Sept 3rd, 6 pics up.
The crouching style is there, and the anatomy is getting there. The head, I can see from previous lines would look better dipped more, so the figure's eye are loking up. Warch the legs tho, make them a little longer.

Sept 4th
- hehe I like the pose, fun. But as you've said urself, legs, too short OR the paper's too small?....:)

Overall your anatomy skills are there, you know whats, what and where bits go, you just need to define it more. 'Bring it together' so to speak. Yes the legs may be too short in some pix, but thats just YOUR composition on the paper. Try and use a kinda skeletal man for positional purposes before adding the muscles on top. You'll find then at least you'll have the figure in proportion on the page.
Keep at it boy, you got good skills. Get yourself an anatomy book or life drawing classes asap!
- ooh, go here www.saveloomis.com and click on the Andrew Loomis Figure drawing book. Some guy has scanned the whole book in, and put it on the net. You can download the whole book, just go through the contents, and click through the pages...
