Hi :) My name is Daniel and I'm 15, I've been drawing since I was around 12-13, I decided to start a sketchbook to keep me motivated. I'm currently reading a few art books and I enjoy drawing the figure, animals, and occasionally characters and weird monsters. Here's some stuff, sorry 'bout the notebook lines!
Animal studies (drawn from "The Art of Animal Drawing' by Ken Hultgren)

Impressive for someone young. Most teens would've given up drawing but it looks like you kept going. Good job!! Keep doing those studies, Loomis rocks :)

Yay, an update. Keep going Dan, it's good that you're breaking that arm into simpler shapes. If you take some time to learn basic perspective techniques you can draw those shapes in any angle. Then once you learn that you can start rendering it so it looks like a real arm or any other object.

Quite amazing, especially the fact that you are 15! Great work, don't be like me and give up! :(

If you don't mind me asking, what is Loomis? A google search came up with a huge stretch of things... :P

That would be Andrew Loomis. You can find some of his books at www.saveloomis.org Not only are they great instruction, but free too.

Good stuff man, keep doing your thing, if you stop yourself from drawing, you'll regret it once you get older, at least that's what happened to most of my friends.

wow for your age you have a very good start on things, just dont let it turn into a chore(sp?) otherwise you will get sick of doing it. This happened to me and im only now getting back into the swing of things.

I really like your line work, very clear and smooth, defining your subject very well. The bear picture is great, animals were one of the first things i started with when i was just learning, funily enough the other was loomis :rendered:

Well keep it up you have made a really good start and i hope you get to the level you want to be with your drawing!

keep it up,
shaun

Wow! only 15.... I wish I was that good when I that age. I'd try to stay away from the lined paper although it may help you with proportions. Keep up your studies and draw like crazy and you'll be great one day!
