Hey...I'm new to this sorta stuff and would really like to get into it. But I see most of you use Photoshop or something like that. I don't have PS but I have corel draw 9. I was wondering if it would be any good...

If you have coreldraw 9, you should also have corel photopaint 9 which is a similar product to photoshop. On the otherhand, photopaint 9 is an earlier release (5 years I think) so will lack some capabilities compared to newer releases of photopaint/photoshop.
Main difference between coreldraw and photopaint is that coreldraw deals primarily with vectors while photopaint deals primarily with raster graphic (pixels)

I would reccomend getting either Painter Classic or one of the new Painter versions (version 9 on it's way soon).
They immitate more of a real life painting (at least gives the ability to) and have amazing possibilities ;)
However i dont really think the medium matters that much in the end.. i mean most drawing proggies have the same basic set of tools, so should be alright in the end.. but best advice i think is just to go at it, and work with the critque and help you get from doing it :D :D
