Still Looking for a Concept Artist...

Yes thats right, i'm still a looking. :upset: :upset: :upset:

I need artist's that are flexible and is not busy with to many other projects. I also need artists who can deliver fast, but at the same time mantian quality. This would be a paying job (by the hour, or by picture) with drawing credits, rights, and space for a profile on a future website i am going to set up soon. Here's the project...

I'm currently writing fanfiction based on the two movies Shrek 1 and 2. This funny and larger-than-life story features Shreks family and also deals with his past. (PM me regarding the story).

Anyways, i need artist's who can do story-bourd (scenes from story) drawings for my fanfic. Drawings will show scenes with the orginal shrek characters and a few new ones. These drawings will be fetured along side my story.

Remember, i'm not looking for a paticular drawing style...

I am actually looking for several artists so that i can show-case different styles of drawing for various scenes - this means that i will be accepting multiple artists, and all will be paid. MONEY PAYMENTS AND TIME-TABLE ARE TO BE NEGOTIATED.

You can contact me by PM, or best by starrdarcy@hotmail.com - my e-mail address

Hope we can work something out with you!

I'm just curious, are you planning on trying to sell this script or idea to Dreamworks? or what are you planning on doing with the storyboards and concepts, making the movie yourself? I see your a student, is this for school?
Do you have permission to use the characters and everything from the Shrek movies, how does that work as far as copyright goes?

and..are you looking for concept artist to design characters, environments, props..? or just storyboard artist?

u can check my work out at the link below my name

Thanks for asking. According to DW copyright laws, one can produce art about Shrek, but the author and artist can't sell at as there on work. That means i can pay someone to do shrek art for me, but they can't sell it, and i can't sell it to the public. This goes the same for fanfic. You need permision from DW to do this stuff, i found out it's a big proccess, hardly worth it.

I don't know the process of selling scripts to movie companies. Can it be done??? Never heard of it, no i'm not creating a script. Just a short fanfic.

-darcy starrIf the artist sells the work to you (you are paying for it right?) isn't the artist violating Dreamworks copyright laws? You're intentions may be good, but I think you're just asking for trouble using the Shrek license.

That was my concern Kirk.. which is why I won't be doing this. I don't know a lot about copyright just yet, but I'm pretty damn sure that taking any studios concepts, characters, story, names..is illegal unless you talk directly to them and get a signed written contract of use on this project and that seems like something that is very likely. If that is all taken care of already, I would want to see the permission given from the studio before doing any work. Also getting pain by the piece would be good incase this project comes to a hault for whatever reasons, atleast then you'll have your money.

i have sent some mail to DW for permission, just to get any problems out of the way...
