Lord Of The Rings Re/concept Thread

After a few discussions on the IRC chat room, people have various thoughts on the concepts of lotr, some people completely disagree with some of the concepts.

"The ents were too twiggy and small"
"Uruk-hai were just humanoids with weird heads and skin"

Instead of arguing your opinions, reconcept the characters from the series.

THIS IS NOT A THREAD FOR FAN ART. DO NOT REDRAW WETA DIGITALS CONCEPTS..

Ideas: Balrog, Orcs, Ents, Urak-Hai, Goblins, Cave Trolls, Other trolls, Elves, Soliders Shelob, Hobbits, Dwarves, Ring Wraiths/nazgul, nazgul riders

(ps: if i see any dragons i'll delete them in a blind fury)

Anyways start those concepts! :)

very cool, are you planning on modeling that?

Here is my Uruk-Hai, No armor. Has more of a "beastly" stance to him. Face is less humor. I plan on doing an armored verison soon.

thanx davi and yeah ill be doing a personal model for the challenge over at cg talk i dont get much time to do personal stuff anymore from freelance work but im defenetly not complaining LOL! on a side note i think the guys did a pretty great job on the characters but agree the ents were to twiggy !

Uruk-Hai in th book are described often as a mix breed of men and orcs and far superior to the nocturnal orc/goblin of the Moria sort.

"For these Isengarders are more like wicked Men. It is a mark of evil things that came in the Great Darkness that they cannot abide in the Sun; But Sauruman's Orcs can endure it, even if they hate it. I wonder what he has done? I wanted to give him armor that was less personal fitted, corset, plated armor, cloth/leather, piece-by-piece armor.

Nice idea ...

i had ideas for the characters and figures of the LOTR long before the movies.

Here´s my idea of Eowyn ... I always had a viking princess in mind. Proud and bound by service. Not very far from the movie - but at least my first humble real painter-sketch.

OMG, thank you. Thats possibly my favorite part of the books, believe it or not. Saruman and Wormtongue are two of my favorite characters...especially the movie renditions. Exactly as I pictured.
