Hi, I'm a new poster here, though I've been lurking for a couple of months.

Here's a concept sketch for an abandoned city I did a little while ago....what do you think? it was going to be for a short cg film I wanted to do, though I've had no time for further work on it yet.

EDIT: applologies to anyone that just saw this tripod thing...havn't had problems with remote linking with tripod before >(

sorry, if you want to see the image now you'll have to go

Here (http://saturn.five.tripod.com/2d/2d.htm), thanks. (it's at the top of the page)

This sketch shows one of the waterways, originally built for traders to negotiate the huge difference in the local tides.

The canals, which were hundreds of feet deep, gradually lowered and became the refuge of the inhabitatants as they retreated to underground dwellings to escape the heat of the sun. Now they are nowhere to be seen.

edit: crit and comments welcome btw :)

This is really great! I love the design and I love the story behind it. I get a really good sense of depth in this pic...great job.

That is great! Almost Feng Zhu. I like the design of this city. Maybe now try to colour it?

Thanks a lot guys..I'm not sure about colouring it...I quite like the bleached out look with how it's markered so far and I don't think my painting skills are up to the job really.
