If you need good reference. you might want to buy The Complete National Geographic 112 Years on CD-Rom. It contains every article and photograph from all their magazines from the year 1888-2000. It cost $60 from their site but I recently purchased it from Costco for only $40. I am not sure if they have Costco's outside of the U.S. though.
*Warning* The National Geographic website says that the CD-Roms WILL NOT work with Windows XP.
