preventing to paintover the outline

Hi again,
sorry for the vague thread title, but my english is rather poor...

When i scan my sketches and want to colour it, the outline always gets lost in the colours and the whole piece becomes messy due to not having the overview anymore, they edges vanishing...
I was playing with masks and layers but without succes.


Call me stupid, not for don't figuring out how to use layers, but for being too incompetent to search for on google or this forums.

layer-------> multiply... put it on top of your color layer. it's that darn simple.

Another question, is there a way to control the seize of the brush with the mousewheel?

Control the size of the brush with the mouse wheel, that I'm not sure. But you can use the ...[...]...<-Bracket Keys to control brush size.
