The Sheep Man nodded."Nextwarhasn'tbegunyet,wetakeit?"
Which was the Sheep Man's last war? I wasn't sure. "Not yet," I said.
"Butsoonerorlateritwill," he voiced, uninflected, folding his mitted hands. "Youbetterwatchout. War'sgonnacome, nothreewaysaboutit. Markourwords. Can'ttrustpeople. Won'tdoanygood. They'llkillyoueverytime. They'llkilleachother. They'llkilleveryone."
Hello all -- used to hang out in the guest portrait posts quite a bit and haven't for a long time, just finished an amazing book felt inspired to sketch something out.
From Haruki Murakami's novel "Dance Dance Dance"

American Psycho, my fav book... Not my fav scene but a very memorable one... Pat Bateman walks up to a saxaphone player, listens for a minute, then shoots him in the head with a magnum.

Spent too much time on this one, I'd say at least 3 hours (#2 pencil on office paper). Nothing seemed to work right on it, still not happy. I think the shading is bugging me the most, the shades seems very flat/muddied. The scan is actually rather forgiving.
Anyway, it's Tyrion Lannister, from George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" series.
"Then he saw the other one, waddling along half-hidden by his brother's side. Tyrion Lannister, the youngest of Lord Tywin's brood and by far the ugliest. All that the gods had given to Cersei and Jaime, they had denied Tyrion. He was a dwarf, half his brother's height, struggling to keep pace on stunted legs. His head was too large for his body, with a brute's squashed in face beneath a swollen shelf of brow. One green eye and one black one peered out from under a lank fall of hair so blond it seemed white."

Asbestoshazard-love the "feel" of that piece. I grabbed on of that authors books (After the Quake) just from your pic and the quote.
Soulsurfer-Your pics got a wierd pixelation going on, is that the compression you used or something on my end not displaying it right?
goran-didn't you post that in another thread, looks familiar. It's a fun pic, did you use any kind of ref for it?

This one could actually apply to both of today's topics, but since I intended it for this one, I'll put it here. It's a scene from Clive Barker's Weaveworld, involving one of two main characters breaking out of jail.

Woohoo, my first dsg
From the third book in A Song of Ice and Fire series.
Sansa is making a snow castle in the snow... (most beautiful scene I've ever seen in a book)
Little sketch (I mean REALLY little, thats the actual size, I wasnt paying attention and was too far into coloring it to care to start over)
http://loader.schwippy.com/Untitled_1.JPG
And then I crappily tried to color it a bit.

I think it might have come out better if it werent so small... Id have more of an area to work, o well. :teeth:
EDIT: Wow, I'm really late... sorry I didnt even notice.
Dont hate me:(
