This is just a concept-image for a hobby-project game, me and my friends are sitting on...
A wizard encounters a dino at the night...the dino is hungry, but the wizard can't take a joke at the moment, so he thinks it's just time to test his new chain-spell he recently learned...

Pretty neat Fozzy!!!!
I don't know if its my computer or what,,, But it is really hard to make out the chains

That is very cool.. but I also had a little trouble making out the chains. Maybe you could somehow extend the light surrounding the wizards up into the chain somehow. Just a small amount of subtle lighting is all it would need I'd think.

If it's chainlinks you're looking for, they aren't there..just black wispy things, which I think look really awesome.
WOw fozz, nice picture. What kind of game is it? Are the chains gonna be interactive, Castlevania style?
oh and...suppose the dino falls on the guy--?

Well, yeah.. I don't mean a literal chain. I guess I should say "binding force".
It probably is my monitor, but the black force gets lost in the background.. Perhaps having even a little of the wizards light follow the force's path, at least people would be more inclined to follow it's direction and maybe notice the path the force was taking.

its seems like the wizard is trying to stop a chained dino who escaped from somewhere, the chains definitly need to stick out more whether they are actual chains or vines or whatever.. and the wizards pose seems alittle, well dificult to perform. he looks as if he's been hit by something, not casting a spell. dont get me wrong its a great piece, but could use some finishing touches.
if you decide to change anything i hope youll post it, i really enjoy your work

OdinSix, oglzogl:
thank you, ok, as the majority called for it, i made the background a little brighter...the "binding forces" (i like this definition, oglzogl) should be seen better now...
Snowfly:
Thank you! It will be a game where wizards take the center stage, that's for sure, but yet we don't know about the rest :)...castlevania, one of the few famous game-series i didn't play...but i don't think the chains will be interactive...hehe, the dino won't fall on the wizard, even though he wears a dino-resisting robe
WerxOne: Thank you, the wizard needs some power to cast his spell, he's like joggling with the force the spell generates, so he stands there like this...

It's a very nice piece Fozzy.. I think making the background lighter helped :)
I like the wizards pose. It looks like he is gathering his strenght to him. And I really like what you've done the with the lighting (on the dino and on the ground behind the wizard). And the dino is kicking up dust... :)
This is very nice!

Thank you! I like it if people like to ask when they are not sure...i know sometimes i suck :p...errr...to answer your question: It was made digitally...i am too lazy to paint in traditional way, though i did before owning a tablet!
oglzogl:
It depended on the screen calibration i guess, my friend told me he could see everything clearly...but i guess our screens are too bright...thank you again...how's the coloring of your witch (or was it an elf?) going btw?

Heh.. well, I have been coloring her off and on all day... been doing a bit of reading too. But the elf is almost done. Then I will have to start on the elemental she is summoning.. but that is the fun part for me. She has been fun but I am going to use some nice patterns on the elemental and I like making the abstract shapes. I've never really tried to mesh realism with abstraction so I hope it turns out okay. Thanks for asking :)
Edit: Hey Foz, I just posted the elf... Let me know what you think.

well i personally have never used a tablet. I am seriously considering it, i never really work in colour just because i get tired of painting sometimes.....
do you use painter 5,6, or 7 or photoshop? and how do you find it if so.

You should consider this REALLY seriously...it's definitely worth the money! I am using photoshop and painter 7 when working on a piece, because both of them have great features, which you can't find on the other...so in working with both programs you've the maximum crop of digital painting.
