Nightmare,

I had this horriable dream last night,
I dreamed I had this insect alien infestation, it was causing my hair to fall out and created these painfull sores on one side of my face, every thime I looked in the mirror they got bigger and bigger than they would fall out in my fands in solid giant tooth like chunks, it was utterly revolting. sorry for grossing everyone out but I just couldant shake that image of looking in the mirror in my dream,
I have been having alot of feelings of anxiety these past few days, I have been confronting my darkest demons. but I am puting it behind me now, the worst is over.

that is utterly creepy. we all have our demons to undo...some would say that is our purpose in life, to rise to the challenge of confronting them.

as always, awesome spod. i like the textureing. wish the ear was more defined as its kinda central to the image.

Oh boy...I'm actually feeling a little sick right now. Yuck. I have a thing about sores and blemishes on my skin and stuff. It probably comes from a bad acne problem when I was a teen, but whatever the root cause your post gave me the heebie jeebies!!!! Man oh man, that would be terrifying and revolting!!!! You've definitely captured the horror of such a dream too. I have mixed feelings about it. Well done piece but it disturbs me! I guess that's a compliment!

Smeagol (my bro) and I went through the same problems although I had it a little worse when I was teen. I had a skin disease that caused these big black scabs to grow all over my face. They would bleed randomly and stuff and I couldn't shave at all. The medicine they gave to me (which never worked) was white...so that added to the humiliation. I looked like a sideshow freak...literally. That was an awful time but God taught me a lesson about my pride that's for sure (I am still prideful but I was MUCH more back then). I know that feeling...it's an awful feeling...looking in the mirror and seeing that..except for like 2 years I didn't wake up. Don't ask me how they got rid of it you don't want to know the procedure...although it might fit in the grotesqueness of this thread hehe. I never imagined that now I would be doing a self portrait everyday (inspired by you)...back then I would run from cameras. I still bear the scars.

p.s. For all the medical people out there...I think the names of the conditions were pyrogenic granuloma and conglobata...or something like that...redehlert could probably tell me the right names hehe.

Now throw some holy water on yourself and call a preist in the morning. (chuckle)
I am sorry I couldn't resist. Here's to your victory of them troubles man.
Oh, Hey! How did your Mom like the Iconic Painting, Man?
Hope she was deeply touched. :)

thats too trippy!!!! I had a very similiar dream a few years ago!!! oh my god.

I have never relplied to your spod's but have always loved them.... I must reply to this one!!

I had a dream where I had all these black heads forming on my face and then they would get bigger and turn into these huge holes with spikes sticking out of them.... then I started to dig into them in horror... pulling on the spike and these massive spike balls would fall out of the sores into my hands. very, very similiar to what you just described accept instead of teeth type things they were giant spike balls.

freaky. great painting btw.

don't get me wrong but i love your dreams.
they all have interesting stories or ideas/concepts behind them and they make you paint your most outstanding portraits. (imho)

your nightmare portraits all share that subtle athmosphere of mighty, unavoidable, irrational horror and a lot of energy.
