Working on a little personnal project with some friends of mine based on the World of Warcraft RPG. I'm not an avid Warcraft player so let me know if I have strayed a little too far off the path of how the orcs are supposed to look.

Updated pencils/colors for full body. Thanks to everyone for their insights.

This looks about right for an orc,
there are no to much rules to make orcs,
just make em big and make em ugly
(and ofcourse dont forget the big
pointy theet :D )
this looks nice,
are you gonna color the sketch?

maxetormer- thanks for commenting. I'm not sure if I'll color this one, I plan on doing a head to toe concept based on this orc. Coloring might be an option though.

Very well-done.

If you want some guidance as to orc facial structure though, I can help.

His face is too long, as it is. Orcs have pretty squat features in the Blizz universe. Tusks should be farther apart, on the outer corners of the mouth. Distance from the bottom of the nose to the upper lip should be greater, with a more pronounced/broader/rounder upper lip.

Heres a good example of the dog-like look that they've evolved into: http://sonsofthestorm.com/warcraft_samwise049b.html#gallery

Anyway, good stuff, I dig it.

Mark Li- Thanks for the info, that link will be a big help. I think the orcs from LOTR are still too fresh in my mind. I hope to post an updated pic soon.

reguardless of Blizzard style of orcs, there are a few things that are often overlooked.. The strategicaly placed gaps in the top and bottom teeth rows necessary to close the mouth. (engrish at it's best folks)
But anyway.. that's just a little pet peeve.. Carry on, carry on :)
