Hello all,

I quite new to this group, after watching the ryan church vol2 dvd i was thinking about how can i learn material indication, i mean there are thousand(if not more) of different material out there. is there any good websites and books on material indication. I would love to see this topic to be discuss further in this form.

I can just say in general you shouldn't try to find some tutorials for the materials you want to be able to draw.

Analyze the materials in photos.
Try to see what role the structure and the surface play first.
How reflective is it? Where is direct light? Where are speculars? Where is reflected light? ...
Those things are more important than what the local colors do.

Try to find images with different materials in the same, generic lighting situation.
Try to find out where the differences are.
And study master paintings.
