Hi everyone,
I'm not quite up to you guys' standards yet, but please help me out here. I got this near-future policeman with a huge stunstick concept I'm working on (I sketched this in bed last night), but I can't seem to get the perspective/position of the legs right.
as far as i know, they're slightly too short, but I need some more input on how to position them...

I hope you can help me out, so I can redo the sketch and maybe bring it into PS for some color.
thanks in advance
David

Oh well... 70 views and no reply. I guess that it's not too much of a problem then  .
I'll start working on a bigger version anyway (previous one was only about 4cm square).

oh.. this shouldn't be too hard.
first at this pose (one foot relaxed, weight on the other one) you have to clear you axis. The main verticall would fall from the neck pit to the internal ankle side.
The shoulder line and the hips line are usualy slightly inclined in opposide directions.
Once you have these the perspective... is basic.
I'll try to make a sketch for you when i get home (few good hours still at job)
I hope it hels - searct for references and try to clear your axis in the meantime.
Yours,
Oblio

thanks a lot! i'll get on it right away...:)
I really need to start using references. I always worked based on nothing but imagination, and found this worked quite well for me, but this is the first time I've tried character work and that's a whole different ball game, IMHO...

Always the same problem: posture drawing. You shouldn't start with the clothes. Start with the body sketch (skeleton sketch).
Not only the legs are a problem here. The right arm is aslo wrong. Ape-like and too thin.
