so, i found this dusty old pentax in my freinds basment about six months ago.
he said he had no idea where it came from so he just let me have it.
i stole a bunch of film from walgreens and just started clicking, trying to figue out how the damn thing worked.
now, this is my first time useing anythig besides a disposible so im still working
out that whole filmspeed light thing so alot of these are kind of blury or to dark but im hoping to learn cause ive got alot of ideas.

now most of these are in neworleans at the old penguin orphanage squat,
a little bit of florida alittle denver and seattle or just on the road inbetween here and somewhere else
please give me any advice you can or just tell me to stop taking up space and film...i can take it.....sniff.
thanks

wow, you have some nice skillz at the portraiture. Portraits are hard to shoot, my photo teacher told me that portraits should make you ask questions, and some of these are very evocative. Nice work!

Your work is good, and it has a very gritty, edgy quality to it. Looks like you are doing well with exposure in almost all of these, but the images all are a little soft. On some of the pictures, that softness works, but in others, I am really wanting to see a little more sharpness. I don't know if this is an issue of you manual focusing, or just the lens. One thing you might want to consider is hitting up a used camera shop somewhere and looking at their inventory of used Pentax lenses. If that camera is as old as I think it is, finding decent lenses for under $50 should be a cinch, and will have an immeasurable impact on your image quality.

You are off to a very good start though. Film matters too though.. next time, try using Tri-X for your Black and Whites, and Fuji Velvia 50 or 100 for your color. I think you will be pleased with the improvement in grain and contrast (Tri-X) and color saturation (velvia).
