the picture with the owl is by far my favorite piece of yours i've seen so far.
This is going to be in your book?
I plan on getting your book. If it's at borders i will get it soon, if i have to order it i'm not sure when i can get it. I just ordered a $55 perspective book off amazon :\

I agree with davy. The one with the owl is a really nice piece. Could u tell us what u mean about the front page? Are you talking about your book or the conceptart website? anyways, excellent pieces, i really like all the guys at the bottom as well. How long did these pieces take to finish? Did you use any references?

Your work really stands out in a crowd...
I don't wanna be a 'fanboy', but... You have that...something.
In the painting with all the guys; the mood, the faces, the colours... I've been wanting to ask; was it inspired by Odd Nerdrum? If you've even heard of him? (yes, it's a real name for those of you who haven't heard of him...)
Anyway - amazing work.
Although the boy with the owl(it made me think of Harry Potter, please don't hurt me! ), seems to have very big ears.
But I have very small ears, so I shouldn't talk...
:D

thanks everyone,
davi i'm ready to paint! hey this is a good idea. there can be a thread where people can ask for reference. i mean, say you need skinny harry potter looking guy in a certain pose, you ask who can do it or fits the bill, then get reference via this online community or off for that matter. ah, this is probably too utopian for the real world.
when i say front page i mean the front page of conceptart.org. it is one of the paintings in my profession gallery.
the kid with the owl is in my book but the other painting came after.
thanks for the critiques. yea, tim hunter has way too many parallels with harry potter.
the ear IS huge! i was just having some fun. i used my next door neighbor as reference. his ear is no where near that big.
thanks again.

Amazing work foster! VERY impressive... I really like the background in that first piece, aside from the subject... that wallpaperesque feel to it is really nice and filling. I look forward to seeing those in print if possible.
Are those to be found in Spectrum 10 by any chance?
Cheers.

Thank you loga4, you said it anyway and I appreciate it!
Chadthx1138, thanks for the tip. I went and checked it out. That is a way cool idea and a nice forum. I think I would love to participate there as well. It has a slightly different stylistic bent or more aptly, genre bent than conceptart.
Aylex, thanks and nope it is tim hunter from the dc vertigo books, but he is allot like harry potter.
Cos, great to hear from you. You have a style and facility with the computer that I find inspirational. English, I really dig your work. you are casting way out into the surf where the big fish swim.
Hey frost, is that handle from aliens? Thank you for your comments. The harry potter looking painting will not be in the spectrum that just came out. I did submit it but they passed.
Zeitgeist, ears are cool! Bernie wrightson always gave his figures long arms. It kind of added an elegance at times.
Joshuathe james, I?m glad you said that, as they are my favorite parts as well. Well that and the face. I tried to experiment with iron on inkjet transfers on the painting. I thought it would be a quick way of getting the background digital effect on the analog piece. I would stick this stuff on that was translucent then paint on it a little as well, maybe some collage of other sorts and then have the piece ready to show. Well I made the stupid mistake of trying this experiment out on the area with his left hand our right side and it pulled up all the paint and left me with a horrid jagged mess. Sniff! I have yet to fix it, as I do not think I will be able to be happy with the painting of the hand again.
Lono, that is one of the nicest things anyone has ever said to me. I just hope that I can actually help people the way you have stated. You, by the way, are well on your way to influencing people around you as well.
