If any you guys want to get together and sketch there's a laid back bar called Doobies on 21st and Lombard. open atmosphere and pretty cheap booze.

Another place is McGlinchey's on 15th and Spruce or Pine... super cheap booze, but its usually kinda dark in there and the biggest tables only seat 4.

I'm in the city alot during school hours. usually from 9AM till 10 or 11PM.

what area of the suburbs are you from? I'm in elkins park/ jenkintown during the week and wherever on the weekends, usually at my boyfriends apt in germantown/mount airy. he's a cool model

Anyway. I would love to do a get together, but getting into the city isn't super convenient for me during the work (or school) week. Is anyone game for the weekend?

I'm in Ardmore, about 10min walk to the R5.

I can do weekends also, provided SEPTA doesn't go through with the service cut on Jan 23rd.

there's also the borders on Chestnut and Broad, near the center of most public transportations.

Hahaha, its a pretty small place with some wierd rules... No Dancing, No Cloves and Cigars, and No Hunting. Airplane sized bathrooms. And probably only sits up to 30 or 35 people max. Its got couple of TVs with spanish captioning, and a pint of Guiness for 4$ [3.75$ @ McGlinchey's]

Well, it sounds interesting - but what is it?

What is it?

Its a day where artists world wide get together, hangout, and record the
day's events in sketchbooks; whereever they might be.

Anyone can participate, all are welcome. Bring your sketchbook and pencils.

We're meeting @ 10AM sunday morning by the North Entrance of Cityhall. under
the two large statues. Itinerary is tentative at this point... and can
change on a whim

We'll get breakfast

Visit the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Those who wish can visit the Dali
Exhibit
Possibly the Rodin Museum on the Parkway

Lunch in Chinatown, walk, take a bus, cab, subway, whatever suits your
fancy.
my friend Eric Guo knows a great Pho place where you can get a bowl of noodle soup the size of your kitchensink for 6$!

Visit Gallery in PAFA if time permits, walk around the City look at some
churches, whatever.

Hit a pub, some sketching, share books and see everyone's sketch done that
day.

Stay as long as you want and head home whenever you feel like.

When all's done, scan your sketches and post them online, share it with
sketchcrawl artists world wide!

i think that we should have a sketchgroup meet at fleischer. 719 catherine street. they offer free classes. i think it would be beneficail to everyone, and fun to finally meet some fellow ca.orgians!
