Hi, I was here a while back, maybe 3-4 months ago, could be longer, and there were a lot of paintings, oil I think, in this section, by an artist, I don't remember his name, I think he could have been Australian although it might have been that he had visited there to do some of the paintings, they were mostly landscapes and very realistic style, they all looked enormous. I'd like to know his name, and also to see the paintings again would be great, thanks.

Try Albert Bierstadt, he was a Swiss-American who was known for his landscape paintings. Do you know the style or time period of the artist's painting you are looking for?

:D Yeah, Frederick Church, that's the one! Thanks so much.. why can't I see the thread? I can see it when I click the link but it doesn't show in the Art History section, which is where it is... Are there other pages with older threads which I'm not seeing? Other sections have more threads on the page so I doubt its that... hmm...

Oh Albert Bierstadt is amazing too, if you'd told me it was him I probably would have believed you as they're both so talented :D Thanks to you all :D
