these are niiiice.. one small crit, the guy's bicep seems a tad too dark, so it makes it blend in with the bg too much.. nothing a kneaded eraser cant cure in 10 secs.. do u go to the Watts Atelier? can you tell me anyting about the "abstraction" you guys use to arrange your quick study figures?

Main loop-
Thanks for the crit! I do go to Watt's. The abstraction is based on the Reily method of rythm through out the body. This rythm can be found in muscules, bones, shadow patterns, etc. It's a way of unifying an image and helping it to tie in together. It keeps an image flowing. (example: In the figure drawing of the guy above, if you take an imaginary line and follow all the way from his brow line down his back and down around his lat's and back up into his deltoid, it makes for unification and a more attractive picture.) It's suttle, but those are the underlying things that make or break a picture. I hope this gives you a better understanding.

hey lucas!
nice work, man. i've always admired your rendering skills, but these're the best yet i've seen of your work. :) i really like the composition on the page of the first drawing of the woman's head -- nice job there. i like the way my eye flows in a circle around the drawing from top left down to bottom right and back up again. also a nice suggestion of pattern in the fabric wrapped around her hair.
