I have another question that the answer is obvious to most people on this site but i dont quite understand the concept. My question is how do you render or shade a drawing (like how do you know where to shade and how dark to shade it)? I would also like to find a tutorial or something of that manner on rendering also. thanks alot!!

wow..... that's a good question.... it's all about light sources, shapes and textures, you have to know the shape of the object, and where the light is... those two determine the placement(in most cases) of shadows.... as far as texture goes, you shade according to what it is, metal tends to get a hard set of value changes, whereas skin is softer, slowly getting lighter as it goes from shadow to highlight

granted i'm no pro.... but that's how i see shading on a fundimental level....

uh... there are so many books and shit to study to figure out how to shade... I really think you should just take the effort to research/study instead of asking for quick tips and short cuts to become a better artist.
