Some scene CA bay area shots

Hi,
I took a drive down route 152(bay area, CA)
it was really beautiful so I took some pictures.

I'm really novice at this,
but I like how they turned out.
some post in photoshop.

I'm curious to see what some people who know a thing or two about
photography think??

Crap dude these freaking rock!!! I love the second one. It looks similar to some places around Gilroy though..heh must be me and being carsick. Anyway keep up the kickass work!!

and dude it IS right by gilroy!
route 152 is right there man, it starts right where gilroy ends I believe.

there is also a resevoir a bit further south/east that I would have really liked to get shots of.

but honestly,
I was driving down there to pick something up,
and was so amazed at the scenery, I went to walmart and bought a digital camera, then shot what I could on the way back.
the lighting was even better on the way down though, sun was at the perfect height.

really inspiring area.

and actually, I just found out that there is a huge national park right there!
not sure if the areas in these shots are actually part of the park, but if not they are close.

go fig.

Haha! That is what I saw. I love those hills and rocks. I just got back from a road trip thats why it was pretty fresh still. I was telling my parents i wanted to get pics of it lol. I saw a bit of the reservoir but I was half asleep still.

I didnt know there was a national park..lol. Do you know how to get in or something? I could probably bug my parents about going to check it out. They'll probably like it too.Im definetly bringing a camera for our next road trip to Nevada which I know is pretty much not going to be too far away.

right under our noses and we didnt even know it exists!!
I think alot of people are that way..
but you know, that might be for the best.

That's beautiful stuff. I love that area. I live in San Diego now, but I used to live up in the Bay, and have driven through this are many times. I love the tangled oaks and such.

A few nits. Your blue skies are a little blown out, which is not unusual for this type of landscape photography. For these areas, light is everything, so I would try going early in the morning or later in the afternoon. The sun lights these rolling hills up, turning everything this rich and eerie orange, with the trees as twisted black shapes with orange highlights.

Here's one of mine from that area. Taken right off the 52, about 15 miles west of Mt. Diablo.

i really like how its composed.

and yeah! you're so right about the lighting,
I was driving through there right at the time you were speaking of.
It lookd so beautiful I just had to get a camera and shoot it.

only on the way back it was much later and the lighting changed.

I compensated in phothoshop,
but I want to go back and shoot it at the right time of day!

That Rocky Hillside is amazing, great shots
