I'm not sure if this belongs here or not. On Richard Schmind's website http://www.richardschmid.com they're now showing that you can get a softcover of Alla Prima for only 49$. I wish I would have got mine now instead of the 100$ I spent on my. If you don't have it yet I would definitely recommened getting it now.
If this doesn't belong here sorry..

That is a steal!
just think of it this way... our hard covers will last longer so the price difference makes up for it... or not. :[

I concur.
It's one of the few books that sits above my desk and gets read over regularly. Sometimes even just for the inspiration.

That's great, do you think this book is also useful for digital painting? If so, I'll think about buying it.

Well what I think is best about Alla Prima is it really gives you helpful information that if you really study will be useful to understading painting an color better. It also puts you in the mind set that it's more than just talent or a few steps that will make you good but that you really need to study and practice hard. It's not really a step by step book it's more about information. I'm sure others could give a better explanation.
Denart I was so surpised the first time he wrote me with some pics too, I wasn't excpecting it at all.

Thanks for this info. I've never really painted, but I'm curious as to what wisdom this book has to offer.

Hey people. I just got my copy that I ordered from the link, really fast shipping and the book is fantastic, really amazing. His paintings are incredible, they've really motivated me to work hard. I'd easily recommend this book to anyone interested in painting.
