This is some of my "work"... I am not a professional photographer (as you can see from the pics) but I am confident with my results. So, what do you think?
I use a Nikon CoolPix 880 digital camera.

I hope now to get some comments

I like the insects a lot! ;)

You must be patient with the comments. This photography section isn't so well known yet.
You got some great photos here. The fly is amazing. My favorite is "Commercial"...but it would look nicer even without the lettering. Perhaps, erasing it with Photoshop would do the trick. Great pics overall.
August 2nd, 2004, 02:10 AM
I also like Commercial very much. But regarding photoshop.. I am not so good at it, so if you like, fell free to modify the picture and post it. If any help, I can send you the original one (2048x1536 resolution). And maybe you can remove my fingerprints from the glass (i hate those and didn't see them until now)
PS: just came out from the seaside and have some pics to post... soon
August 2nd, 2004, 03:19 AM
I was in a hurry at the seaside and took some pictures (all on full auto and thus not so great)
But they came out pretty good (I must admire the camera capabilities on full auto: it is one of the greatest I ever seen)
Look at me

"Digit-all" is my favourite! :) Post more!

the insects are really nice, especially the fly.
I'm don't know shit about photography but I like your stuff.
August 5th, 2004, 01:05 PM
hey dude, great work.....in the angels pic, are they real cloud formations?
very impressed all round.....keep it up, and don`t worry, people will see your work......
it`s always a matter of time
i use my fuji on full auto as well and it works great.......do you use photoshop to alter much or not?
August 6th, 2004, 02:11 AM
I have used alot Ulead photoimpact so Photoshop is not on my taste... but yes, the Angels photo was altered a little in PS... the clouds were in that position and form/color... I only used liquify tool to pull those wings a little. Otherwise no modification in other pictures (excepting frame and crop/resize)
Thanks you for your comments

Here it is one of the above picture made of thousands of smaller pictures (all made by me ;)
Download the picture to your PC and use a image viewer like ACDSee to view different zoom levels... all zoomed out is the girl, all zoomed in are the component pictures :)
I like the ideea... it took almost 3h to generate it... and btw, sorry for the huge size (shouldn't be a problem on broadband :p )
August 6th, 2004, 03:53 AM
I hope you don't mind, but Ithought I'd have a go with this pic of yours
I think most of the finger prints have gone and I took out the writing
August 6th, 2004, 08:53 AM
Please, can u tell me how u did it? I am an absolute begginer in PS...

I used Photoshop 7,
1. select “Image”
2. drop down to “Image size” and click
3. in “resolution” change the setting to 300 dpi, this means you can zoom up the image without it looking pixalated
4. with zoom tool, zoom in to the area you want to work on
5. then find the clone stamp tool, select suitable brush size
6. place the tool next to a blemish you wish to remove, press and hold “Alt” key and left click, this selects a piece of image that you can now paint over the blemish with, the tool follows your painting moves, so you may have to
reselect the tool several times
7. To remove any sharp edges of alteration, select the
“Healing tool brush” adjust the brush size to suit and
paint across the edited parts, this blends and smooth’s the look.
Good luck :confident

September 3rd, 2004, 08:15 AM
Here is what I have tried with one black & white picture of mine. comments pls
PS: the writing there is a texture taken from the internet. I think it is a page from the Coran (or Koran) and have no ideea what's saying there.

A lot of truly amazing work in there. Nice
October 13th, 2004, 08:35 AM
Sorry for not posting for such a long time... but i've been very busy with work... but time for photos I still had, so, here are some photographs made in my one week vacation to greece.
Misty sunset on the Eagean Sea
Old eating room at a monk monastery
Dead monks (they have all eaten in the previuos place :) )
And this is where they lived - Big Meteora
Another view - Big Meteora
And a very beautifull Ad on a cafe - Skiathos Island
October 13th, 2004, 10:26 PM
The dead monk picture is awesome. The colors make it creepy... its cool. And the Ad on the Café the vibrant colors are awesome and I like the bush in the corner, it really adds to the picture. Nice work!
October 14th, 2004, 08:38 AM
yeah... it was also pretty creppy to shoot that with the dead monks. I had to put my hand and camera through some steel bars inside a small room, full of bones.... yuck.. but the result was very nice...
Here I put some nature study:
Guess what? Part of a tree - Nature amaze me every day
I don't know the name of this "beast" in english
thank you for all the comments.. keep them going
October 14th, 2004, 09:54 AM
And the last post for today (I hope so :)
October 15th, 2004, 04:36 PM
Hey man you do some great work dude. Love the shot of the insects. How do you do it man? Do you bribe them with $$....lol
anyway i like your work.
October 16th, 2004, 10:28 AM
Wow, those shots of the insects and plants are stunning. That extremely up-close (for lack of a better adjective) is one of my favorite types of photography, and one that I use often. Do you have any type of special lens?
October 18th, 2004, 04:34 AM
Tgfx - I don't bribe them... I only give them a drink.. lol... just kidding
Wolf - no special lens 'cause I don't have yet a SLR digital camera. I only use a Nikon Coolpix 880, which is very good at macro modes (almost all nikon coolpix cameras are very good at that)
check out my website for more interesting (i hope) photos. updated montly.
regards and thanks for the comments...

Natural Reservation of Balea Lake, Fagaras Mountains, Romania
September 6th, 2005, 12:38 PM
the name of that "beast" in english is caterpillar
i'm envious of the macro abilities of your camera, and your abilities to capture the bugs so still.
i think climb 2 top is your best photo. The composition and focus are really good and its a macro shot.
i find it funny that the only type of spider i've gotten a picture of, you also have:
(i dont usually like posting photos in other peoples threads)
September 7th, 2005, 10:49 AM

September 9th, 2005, 05:27 AM
The rectorate is not abandoned at all. It's my university central "bureau". It located in Bucharest, Romania. The university it's a politechnic one.
