keeping tabs on Final Fantasy 7 Advent Children?

personally FF7 is my favorite game of all time,
fawk I love it.

I've been keeping my eye on this project,
and it seems to really really be in the same spirit as the original.

Havent been stoked on a movie like this in quite some time.

anyways I just wondered what you guys thought?

not sure about the theatres thing though,
might be DVD.

I'm kinda over the FF series too,
they just continue to up in budget and production,
but the subject matter seems to be getting all.. well.. I dont know.. "kooky"

i'm down for FF7 no matter what though.

I don't think it's coming to theartres. And I sorta agree with you about Square I kinda hate all their new FF stuff but I can still have hours of fun beating and rebeating the old ones.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Advent Children. I, too, really loved FF7. The graphical side of the movie is very stylish and hits me. That's how 3D is supposed to be made by my opinion, not to trick people to believe it's reality, but to imitate reality yet at the same time keeping it CGI all the way. It's hard to explain really. But I'm looking forward to it, haw yes!

completely photorealistic CG,
while it is essential and really at home in visual effects,
still just doesn't excite me as much as the work in FF7AC,

this movie, to say it simply, looks beautiful!
as opposed to looking "real"

if I want to see something real I'll just look outside.

oh and yeah i'm pretty sure its DVD only.
might change though, I think that's a possibility.

Yes! That's exaclty my point!
And yes, Advent Children comes to DVD (and may come in theaters if the DVD manages well enough, but I really don't believe they'll bother).
At some point, it was in concideration that the movie would be Sony PSP exlucive! Luckily, the producer announced that this course hadn't been taken (it may come to PSP with some extra bonus material, but nothing more). The movie itself has been ready for some time now. Only the publishing details remain a mystery.

Alongside last week's announcement of the movie's screening at the Venice International Film Festival, Wada said that in addition to the already-announced DVD and UMD releases, Advent Children may also make its way to customers through digital downloads or in movie theaters.

Delays in the development of the computer-animated Final Fantasy VII sequel appear to have given Square Enix the time to explore other avenues of distribution. Originally planned for release on DVD in Japan this summer, the film's release is now simply scheduled for some time this year. "
