I tried searching the forums for Wayne Barlowe and recieved a horrible shock when no results came up.
Surely this great artist, one of my absolute favorites, has other fans here on conceptart.org.
I'm planning on buying at least one of his books, aside from "Discovery" (at least I think that's what the title is), which I already have and love.
does anyone have any of his books or know if any of his art is on the net?
the guy's talent and creative power never cease to amaze me.

wooo! another fellow Barlowe fan. I love his dark works, especially the art in Barlowe's Inferno. I wouldn't all that reccomend Barlowe's Guide to Fantasy. It's kind of cheesy, the stuff inside.

You're best bet is to check out the publisher who's responsible for publishing most of his latest stuff: www.morpeusart.com

Also check www.darkworlds.com which is basically the store side of Morpheus Art (picked up the Elytracephalid print from there, very nice).

The only other new thing that has his art in it is Hellboy: The art of the Movie (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1593071884/qid=1091065433/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/102-3504847-9157701?v=glance&s=books) , He was responsible for a lot of the Lovecraftian beasties.

That should be a good start.

Also the book you're thinking of is Expedition (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0894806297/qid=1091065701/sr=1-4/ref=sr_1_4/102-3504847-9157701?v=glance&s=books)
