I've been a lurker for a while and finally decided I should contribute to the community. It's pretty intimidating with all the great work here, but hopefully I can turn a few heads. Comments welcome and encourage. :bashful:

Just did these two today.

yah looking good love to see more .. !are you a girl ? reason i ask is you say you have seom problums with male proprotions .. its funny that its easyest or the most natural to draw our own body type .. sorta wehn you can feel it u can draw it .... all the girl ones look great ... so i suggest really wehn your out tomarrow really look at the guys out there .. dont by shy really check out the way thay move and how there weight shifts .. try and get a internal feel for it .. then it should be verry easy to pick up ... unless of corse you are a guy haha then i dont know waht to tell ya :P

Thanks for the replies guys. I started the thread so I had more of a reason to fill up my sketch book.

Mentler - I've looked at SOFA before. I'ts like ten minutes from where I live in Las Colinas.

Liam C - yeah, I'm a girl and that is so true. But I have to say we girls are at a disadvantage most of the time because in the three semesters I've had figure drawing/painting classes there has been a male model maybe three times. Of course that could have to do with the fact that my instructors have always been male. :) By the way, I looked at your sketch book, really nice stuff in there.

I just recently got Zbrush and this is my first attempt at modeling in it. I know they're not exactly sketches, but they're not finished either. There aren't any eyes yet because I haven't figured out how to add seperate geometry without converting the rest of the model to 2.5D.

Liam C - Zbrush is awesome. I love it. It's like working with digital clay. Great for more traditional people like me who have a hard time getting used to modeling with polygons. Down side is that you don't have as much control over your polygon count as you do in other programs. Upside is that you can lower your polygons and apply the higher count version of your model as a displacement map and get the same results (or so I've read, haven't tried that one yet though).

A quick self portrait I did. Maybe 20 minutes. Then scan isn't really that great because the picture was too big for my little scanner. Plus I can't ever seem to get graphite to scan as nice as I want it to.

a quick sketch for a painting I was thinking about doing. there's more room around it in the actual pic but my scanner is too small for the size of paper I used.
