Hi there,

Just wondering if anyone out there knows the e-mail address for Corel's
general tech support?
I tried to access the link on their site where it has "e-mail corel", however the link "froze" consistently over the last week.
It seems weird that the only customer support they offer over the phone is billed at a minimum of $25! Where does one get information if the software they sell has bugs in it which isn't covered in their general information section?
Having owned Painter 8 for 2 weeks and running the patch successfully, there are still some major issues which haven't been remedied. (lasso tool's
selection is very inconsistent, can't save files as jpegs, grouped items must be the same before collapsing, etc.)
I'd hate to think that after they sell you their product it's then caveat emptor (unless you're willing to pay more to see how to properly run their software!)

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Click the bottom left link on this page on my Pixelalley site (http://www.pixelalley.com/pixelalley-sections-pages.html) and you'll find, along with descriptions of each, a list of some good:

E-mail Lists

Message Boards - (my TutorAlley Forums board is one of them, full of good info an we're taking new registrations again after a long pause)

Newsgroups

Corel Painter Patches, Files, Updates, and Support Services - (this target link to jump you to a link to the Corel phone numbers)

We get most of our good support from other users who've been through the fire enough times to know what's been fixed and what hasn't, and workarounds if there are any.

Group and Collapse still works only when the Layers are all in Composite Method Default, otherwise, the Collapse option is greyed out.

There are sometimes ways to get better selections, depending on what you're dealing with.

If you explain a little more about your problems saving JPG files, and include enough detail, maybe someone will have a solution.
