Hey guys, Im recently going to get paid a big chunck of change soon, so I wanted to buy me some markers and oil paints. Can anyone recommend any? I own some design brand markers, that have a gradual grade of pigment color. The lightest one has ten percent of purple, the next has 20, and so on, and so on...
I want to know what brand of markers you guys use, and what oil paints I should buy? Since im going back to school pretty soon I want to try these out in my figure drawing class!
I thank you in advance!:)

There is a brand of oil paint that Utrecht makes. They are less expensive then the Windsor and Newton brand and work very well. Since you live in California, you can go to the their store and buy them. They are located in West L.A. Here is their website for more info: Utrecht (http://www.utrechtart.com/)

most marker brands [ad, studio-1, prismacolor, copic, tria] i've used are fairly similar; it's mostly up to personal preference [i use what i have near by]. i suggest buying a series of grays if you dont have them, either odd or even percentages [ex. 10,30,50,70,90, and black]. If you're going to get any color markers try to get sets of three in aproximately the same color but three values [light, middle, dark].
