Most of these were culled from sketchbooks though..

bonedog...Bonedog....BONEDOOOGGG!!!!!
What's THAT?
I am stunned by this image. If there is a pic i would like to hang up on to my roomwalls - that's deinitively yours at the moment.
First i thought - wow, very interesting, then i scrolled down to the next entries, but frequently scrolled up back to this piece of you.
There are not many images, where you can say, it got the maximum effect with minimum effort, but you managed it.
I want to say this, because this attracts me a lot (i fear my english is too poor to express my thoughts)
Bonedog - just three words: MORE MORE MORE!

kchen: [in reguard to rackham] i love his alice in wonderland work, he is just amazing and a master of traditional art .. funny to think his style could have been destroyed if he had the resource we have today.
i especially liked how he gave the white rabbit from alice in wonderland red eyes, like a real bunny would.

This is one of about 10 pages of roughs. I like to work on notebook paper when I am roughing out idead. I find that when concepting on cheap-ass notebook paper I am less worried about producing art and more focused on getting the ideas out and onto paper. This speeds up the revision process and gets me to a final design much faster.
The image is an idea for the door to an undead lord's keep. The rest of the images are of architectural elements and building/space design. I'll post them if anybody is interested.

Dude, the way you render the texture of the tree-like-tentacle-like-thing-like thing is awesome.
I also took a gander at a lot of the drawings and paintings on your website and found one in the environmental section that really rocks. I want to know how to do stone walls like the one you have there. I can't seem to render the stones to fit with eachother? is there a special formula or just randomly drawn in?
I thirst for knowledge.

Hey Smeagol, great work!
My favorite is the four-horned ogre guy. Such texture! You did such a great job varying your lines to make the forms clear that I have to ask: Is that all the same medium? Or did you, for instance, do most of it in pencil and then use ink on the darker form-defining lines?
Thanks for sharing!

NoonThirty: Thanks for your words of encouragement, I really appreciate it. The 1st, 4th, and 5th sketches were done in good old pencil, the 2nd and 3rd were done with a sienna Col-Erase pencil. All of them were adjusted for brightness/contrast, minor color changes, in Photoshop after being scanned in. Thanks again for taking time to post a reply.
KChen: I too am a Rackham fan and love your sketch. I could definitely see that complimenting a children's poem or being the lead illustration in a children's chapter in a book. Great work!
