Here is the product of about 1 1/2 hours of work. I really wish I could capture the emotion i see in my head but still.

drawn in my sketchbook... which is rather messy with doodles so... that is why there is a random guy in the bottom right corner... i decided on icarus cause cupid sucks.

Anatomy - not a strong point of mine :)

Icarus accompanied by a strange mouth man type dood flying above him - no idea why i drew that :)

This DSG has turned into a Work in progress/experiment lol. All the digital art here has made me actually try painting except i only have a mouse so.. :bash:

Eulathus: Yeah its a real bitch trying to paint with a mouse, it just doesnt feel natural. I would invest in a graphics tablet asap, mines a Wacom Graphire 3 and it works fine. A steal at 80 quid concidering what its done fore me. But your simple orange piece is intriguing, for some reason it says to me, Paris, 60's mixed with a touch of Art Deco. Am I the only one getting this vibe?

Hazzard: Well they say self crit is the hardest. I need to stop doing linear pieces and explore more. I need to break out of line drawing and paint, paint, paint! I need to start doing linless pieces and show form using colour, light and shadow.

Miau: Very nice, very subtle but still striking. A very moody and atmospheric piece.

bunnitos: Nice colours, I suggest you go out and you start drawing poeple, and keep doing forever just like the rest of us have to :( you will begin to notice things that peoples bodies do and systems that the form of the body takes and you will begin to just draw from imagination. But first you have to draw from life.

Goran: The usual kudos. Im not one to talk about originality of style, but just from shear curiosity id love to see you using a different media, even digital! I realy want to see some stuff from you that is completely different and realy show me what you can pull off, im sure its amazing.

JSlayer: Same to you, do not stop drawing from life. Just take a little sketch book about A5 with some HB pencils and go draw people up town. Trust me after a month you will see massive results.

Baaah!: Your style rocks, almost Giacommeti (spelling?) but I love it! Nice composition.

Kurdt: Love the way youve protrayed the brightness of the sun, nicve colours aswel.

I do see what your saying and I do agree without me explaining it is a bit generic. Basicaly I was trying to go for a heart breaker, fabio, men and women alike fall for this perfect being, not becuase the men are not hetro but simply becuase IT would be so radiant to behold, like an angel. Cupids love was to get Gods to fall in love with mortals. This was my interpretation of Cupids mission to get Apollo to fall for a mortal nymph before dad turned em to a tree.

So fabio stunning angelic perfect kinda being I was shooting for as I knew the diaper thing is done to death.

hey cybergig,

i know it's an old drawing of his, but i've been a corey lewis fan for quite some time now, and your guy getting the arrow through the eye is line-for-line a corey lewis drawing from way back.

you can't copy popular artists' work and then post it on an art forum..people catch it. just post your own stuff dude. i think we'd all appreciate that.
