hey all, I'm new to this site, and I wanted to show my pics of Halle Berry and Qui-gon and hopefully get some critiques on how to make them better. Comments are welcome aswell.

first off yours eyes are off. Halle doesnt look that cross eyed hehe ;)

Second i think you should looke more closely at how other people (here for instance) draw a face. Like the nose.. it doesnt have many contour lines, as opposed to being shaped by shadows. Noses are hard i think, but you gotta avoid drawing them like outline, and define them by shadows instead...

Good work though... But eyes need alot of work... but i reccomend that site for doing them.. good tips :D

Your Qui-gon is far more successful in my opinion. The features are slightly more accurate and I like your line work.
Halle Berry is suffering from the shading. I know it's tough to convey darker skin tone. Perhaps experiment with more than one way to shade? This blending method could still work if the shading followed the curves of the surface better.
