WIP.. Need help with the background

That is, I need help with ideas for a background. I just sketched this pose out, and started painting without any premeditation. Now I want make a painting out of it. So, good people of CA, any ideas are more than welcome!

Ok, I'm trying to imagine who he is and what he's doing.
In a graveyard? (sneaking around) On a hillside? (he looks kind of like a shepherd with a staff) In the forest? (his beard makes him look like Pan.)
I'm thinking something at night because of the coloring/lighting you have on him. The cool blue highlights could be coming from the moon.

It's been a while, but here's the update. I started out adding to the old background, but it screwed up the comp. My eye just kept flickering wildly all over the place, so I've calmed it down a lot. I'm going with ther graveyard idea. Thanks, emily! :D
