drawn very nicely,
with the style you seem to be working up, i would reccommend pushing the shadows more... you seem to be doing that just in the torso region and not really anywhere else. i could imagine seeing some really strong darks in the boots, especially in the leg that receeds into space.
it would also be nice to maybe hit some highlights (possibly a different hue?) in the background, maybe in some of those places where the background butts up against strong shadows.. you seem to be starting to do some of that.
id also reccommend hitting that red a bit stronger..maybe a little more on the orange range, since it complments the blue/green overall page
other than that, just keep playing around, looks like youre having fun and doing well

looks really good, nice dynamic pose and everything looks to be drawn well. I think the shadows are great, the only thing I think is missing is it doesnt quiet pop out of the background enough. If you put in some more highlights, maybe not even white, just a lighter color it would pull the shapes infront of the background. Right now there is a little loss of form in the darkness. Overall good piece, well drawn :fruit:

I'm not sure if you were wanting comments on the design or not, but here goes. The artwork is great, but there's one thing I would do differently on the pose if you want to add to the realism. Whether in an alert or ready firing position the elbows should be pulled into the torso, not sticking out to the sides. The shooter is supposed to be balled up tightly to make a smaller target and to allow the arms resting on the torso to stabilize the weapon.
Just my 2 cents. All in all it's a great piece of work!

thanks for the comments.
Wes9000-interesting point about the shadows..I'll apply it towards the next piece, I'll work alot more on the color pallete too as it's one of the things I usually neglect.
Clandestine IX- yeah you're right about the figure not popping off from the background. I'll pay more attention to that too.
Eorj- got me there...the upper torso was partially referenced from a posed Swat action figure while the legs were just-draw it til it looks right kinda deal.
el Coro- what can I say, blue is one of those favorite colors I just seem to over use. oh yeah, got a bunch of dollar bills with your name on it just waiting to be spent

looks great, the monotone colors don't really bother me much but the fact that your figure is so dark and the background is aswell bothers me.
if you look in alot of elcoro's work you'll notice if he does a dark subject the background is light enough to 'pop' out the figure.
greatjob though, i'd like to see more posts of this style
