Here's my 3rd and 4th attempts at enviroments. It's a setting of the beginning of a story of mine that starts with the hero guy at a dwarf/gnome fella's island-esque type home. I used brick beige and putty prismacolors. They go together real well.

These are really good Tarwater...
I think they would be even better with a Little color..
I like the way you render with markers

i love them!
looks a bit like an urbanized hobbit mansion :)
lving in built structures above the ground but retaining that certain earthboundness, secret corridors, circular windows and so on...
really cool!

Great Concepts and Drawing skills. I like the way you blended the structures into the enviroment to define the hole thing as one. Next chapter: Color?

Is it the same place as seen from two different angles?
-'Cause the more I compare them, the more I think that's the case, but you didn't say, so...?
They are both very good. :)
I need to do some of this myself; draw buildings and vehicles, to get better. Although I should know how to draw them, as I spent a couple of years in school learning technical drawing(if that's even the english term for it).
But it's been ten years, so I've forgotten a whole lot...
Anyway - I like these, and I also think you're making progress.
Personally I like the second one the best, because it has a more angled view.

ODIN SIX, gekitsu, ZeeWire - Thanks, maybe I'll try color next time.
davi - I'm glad to be helping someone. I'm still learning perspective too.
¤ N G ¤ - Thanks. The first one is an initial sketch that I decided to take all the way to ink and marker, and the second is the same thing, just in a perspective angle, so you are right.
I'm hoping to have time to do another one today.:)

I especially love the choice of position for the cottage. defendable with a good viewpoint. the rope bridge could serve as a good drawbridge perhaps???
i'd live there..:)
