Ok this is also in the sketch section but i dunno how to move it to over here. But anyway i will add in my latest pic.
Let me point out something.
The right arm (left side of monitor) is to long..I noticed this right when i finished the cg and I was gonna piss my pants seeing i let such a big problem pass by me. Thats what happens when ur exicted for the cg and dont look enough at the sketch.
Anyway let me know what else u see here i could work on besides the long arm :o

for me it is really hard to crit posts of this time. I'm what you would call...anti-anime... you may not call this anime but it has some elements.
strongly suggest female anatomy studies, even if you are going to go cartooning it will be very useful, the bulk on the left(right of image) forearm is very... well..bulky.

Thanks. Yeah my friend said anatomy is horrible to start off on anime because anatomy is really f***ed up. Started drawing DBZ and we all know thats horrible to start on.
But ive been tryin to catch up and beein drawing a few other more real things and drawing from photos and what not. but thanks for the crit.

is her left hand rotating 180 degrees backward? That would be pretty tough. her hands look like crab claws, you need to do some hand studies to build up some basic shapes to work with. I suggest drawing your own hand or drawing from Bridgman.
I wouldn't worry too much about coloring until you can get a solid drawing down. Draw lightly first to get your measurements and basic shapes, then fill in the details progressively as you sort of...whittle...the drawing out of a blank piece of paper. Really, trying to learn about color, value, form, anatomy...its all too much at once. Learn a little anatomy, learn a little value...draw from other artists that you admire (please not anime artists though) and your drawing will get stronger as a result. Also, draw from life.
and what davi said.

I have an assignment for both you shorty. Draw a hundred hands in different positions over the next couple months. do two a day at least if you can. draw your OWN hands or other peoples from life....or find great photos of sculpture and use those. photos will work but if you do it from life you will understand the forms better.
keep it up.

Hi Sancho,
Here some quick pointers on your last sketch.
1- I do agree with the others about the proportions of the arms. The elbows should be a little bit lower.
2- Don't be affraid to slim the wrists down. At least give them a diffrent size if they are seen on the front or on the side. You will be able to trim down the figures of the wrists and hands by first reducing the bulk of the foramrs. Ultimately, slender figures will help you give a more realistic look if you are looking to ''free yourself'' from the animestyle.
There are others things you could also work on, like the eyes, but I agree that working on the upper limbs is already a big start!
Keep at it!

Well workinf on a diffrent pose for the redew of this pic. This is what I got so far...not looking very promising. Shoulders are messed up and the head is just...bothersome..maybe a headless girl might work out lol Im working on the hands and there just a bunch of stuff not looking very good. Still working on it thou :) Also doing the hand thing :o

Ok, I hope you don't mind that I did a redraw on your pic.
Please forgive me for the sloppy linework. :)

I want you to note how it helps to draw the bones under the surface. There are also a few porportion tricks you can learn to help you when you draw figures (for example, the elbows end at the waist).
I'm glad you are going to do the hand assignment. I've done it before and it helps a lot. :)

Thanks. I understand where your coming from too. I usually stick to basic shapes but I just might draw the bones as well in some more of my recent drawings. Thanks for the help. Plus visuals help me more. So thanks a bunch.
