I took some time today during my lunch break to try a technique out that was inspired by Sparth's tutorial ( http://perso.wanadoo.fr/arth/artisticprocess/process_01.htm ).

For the most part, I always did the line art first, and then filled everything in. I've never tried to paint by shapes and color to start off with, but I'm pretty happy with the results.

This is pretty much just a test to see how well I'd take to this technique (I think it took 30min or so), and I can't wait to go home and try it with my Wacom (using a mouse for this is painful!). Let me know what you guys think, and if there was a day where this kind of thing just "clicked" for you too.

Any tips or suggestions for this style? I know the perspective's off a bit, so I'll be sure to watch out for that in the future. Thanks, guys!

Here's what I've been able to do since coming home and messing around with my Wacom tablet. Original image size is 3000x1000, and there's still a lot to add, but I'm fairly satisfied with what I have so far.

Needs work, but then again, what doesn't? ;)

Thanks! :D

This is a concept piece for my project Red Sky, and it's the future equivalent of the Eagle's Nest (it takes place is a 1984-ish universe). I was thinking about adding a few more installations on the other mountains, but I'm not sure yet.

I've been working too long on this today, I'm starting to get careless. Ha!

I guess it happens. :) Thanks for the comments.
