These are so fun Phil! Where's today's stuff?! I like the landscapes very much, but I wish for less formulaic mountains.

Hey Phil, nice to see you start a sketchbook here. That last one is great. 10 minute speedpaints!??!? geebus. I might have 3-4 inane squiggles at that point. Ok, I'm exaggerating...slightly. Lets see some new stuff! :D

Today's mayhem. Wanted to paint something with a way annoying palette. 30 minutes.

And for the curious.

I painted on orange for some reason.

lol, way to resurrect a thread, Phil! Can't wait for the next update...in 6 months! ;) (You know I love you <3 )
Hmm..what's so annoying about the pallette you chose there? I dig the red background...it has the color of dried blood...a very earthy, rusty red. I'm diggin' the pose from the waist up, but the bottom (even though you can't really see his far leg) looks a bit forced... If you can view it from the waist up only, it looks like you'd expect to see him sort of standing there in a nonchalante pose, rather than doing the hurky jerky walk forward he's got goin' on there.
Post more, punk! :D

fukifino - Lol. Yeah. I'll be more active these days. I'm eliminating the majority of extra crap in my life. The palette just seemed annoying while working on it. I mean painting on orange just seemed weird. But, sometimes I like to build up from a completely off color.
Here's tonight's mayhem.
Artkitty said to do some enviromental stuff. I sketched this on 16lb layout bond. It's about the size of a quarter and a dime sitting next to each other. I wanted to work off of something tiny. Maybe 40 minutes worth of painting. More thinking was required to figure out the water color and warm ambient lighting.

And the steps.

No reference. Just skattered memories from rafting ages ago.
This next one is a reallllly quick photoshop sketch. Mostly to show simple palette variation.

I'm gonna sketch a bit more then go to sleep.
