Sup everyone
Here's my second photoshop-made image. Criticism is greatly appreciated. Advice on how I could make it better would also be appreciated.

I like the concept and the way you layed out the enviroment..
I do not know what Effect you are trying to achive, but to me
it looks cartoony..
You want to desaturate it some,,, try using some adjustment
layers like Levels & Curves.. Those work pretty good..
Good Job:chug:

I was going for a realistic look, but somehow it came out too cartoony. Do you think it could be due to the black lines being too dark?

the best way to achieve realism is use reference images
a good way to learn how to get good detail into your painting
is to just paint over a picture, they give you your colors and the detail, great way to learn, once you've got the hagn of it
you can just change the image to whatever you want. i dont recomend using this method for professional work, but for practice its a fast way to learn

I tweequed it a bit. I did what you said ODIN SIX, lower the saturation. I find the new results quite satisfying. I removed the black lines on freehand brush and that seemed to make it less Cartoony. What do y'all think?

Much better Mad Lobster. Did you try WerxOne's suggestion??
It is a good learning techquie..
It now looks more like it is night time. Lighting a picture can be
hard. I am still learning on that one. I like it ...
Lets see some more..............

Thanks!
No I just tried out your (ODIN SIX) advice, but I'm sure Werx's tip is helpful. I'll try out his on my next one. I just got the program and I still ahve a great deal of techiniques to learn.
So does my new image still have the cartoony look? I think the black lines from the outline is what gave the cartoon expression. I took them away and that seemed to lessen the cartoon effect. What do you think?
