OK This so far I think is crap...I looked in the mirror to try and figure out the anatomy. Even thou the guy is going to be covered in the samurai type clothing wich is large type clothing, it makes no sense in figuring out the anatomy but i just want to.
Plus my friend said to work more on my anatomy then the detail that I love doing lol
Anyway I also did the She Lays on Clouds Fourm (http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=26169) in this sketch area so if you seen that Im sure you know Im capabale of improvment. If u havnt go chek it out, still not grand but it kinda shows im able to improve
So just give me your thoughts on this and if u would be in that pose (wich was kinda painfull) or if there was a diffrent pose or angle u would do the shot.
He will be holding a sword and it will be in the skull of a comrade he just killed.

Alright first of all, of course its important to draw the anatomy before putting the clothing on. Otherwise your just thrwing on clothing with no idea what you're doing.

Anyways, you should learn the proportions of a male before drawing this. Hey, I started off not knowing shit, but you just gotta practice. Ex: Arms end just before knees, elbows almost level with hips, stuff like that. Maybe www.polykarbon.com can help you out, although the internet isnt so great for tutorials.

Anyways just keep practicing, start with a skeleton/stick figure, draw main shapes, transform into proper muscle shapes.

;) have fun :btu:

Things seemed to have improved quite a bit from the first post. Hands are looking way good. Draw them alot, it'll pay off later. You're obviously not afraid to draw faces at all. That'll end up being your ally as well. Proportion does seem a bit strange, and you've missed some shape in the head. But at the same time you've picked out some things that I miss all the time. I'd say keep up the sketching, and get a good book on figure drawing, hell got a ton of them. I'll resist saying anything else, because these boards are filled with many great artist, who are far more experienced then I am. Keep posting though I'd love to see the finished result.
