a cityscape after a disaster of some sort. I wanted to try to capture the feeling you'd get if you had witnessed the event and were trapped in it's aftermath. to do this I tried to push the fore, middle and background together to create a sense of unease and unrest.

although im not sure if i would've known it was a burning *city* if you hadnt said so
is it a futuristic city?

thanks! A city on another world or in another timeline. It has ( or had, as the case may be ), elements of an old european city with the infrastructure of 1960's urban Japan.

The fire is done amazingly well..but I wish you defined at least one subject better to make it stand out more, because currently it seems that this piece is lacking a strong composition.
But very nice start nonetheless. Keep it up =)
