Hi all,

continuing to muck around in Painter7. Had a lot of fun playing around with the Scratchboard tool and pressure sensitivity. Very therapeutic exercise. C&C's welcome!

It's a killer sketch, and I love the monotone shade. You definitely nailed that "I'm tired from battle all day, so don't mess with me" feel. Although I have to say I wouldn't have immediately thought of conan had you not mentioned it in the subject. And I think the the sword could've had a tad more emphasis cause you don't really see it at first glance. But overall really nice though. :btu:

good work.. but i agree with sad clown i think darkening the lower portion of the sword would emphasise its place in the foreground while also provinding a similar outline (similar to the outline on the figure)
just a suggestion ... but good stuff

Thanks for the feedback guys. I haven't made any adjustments to the picture yet. Wouldn't a heavy dark line along the bottom sort of be too obvious a frame around the figure and make the composition a tad boring? Or do you reckon framing the figure that way would help the piece by drawing attention to the figure? Just wondering. May noodle around some more.

Any more crits? The newbie here can use all he can get. :)
