Thank you all for the links, it has been - pardon the expression- a visual orgy of sorts. I love industrial pics, I don't why. Waylon, your collection is fantastic, I found several to be absolutaly breathtaking ( and I mean that in a good way and not the Sienfield way ) I hope you do more and share them with us. Thanks again.

Just put a new industrial gallery online. The factories aren't decaying THAT much, but I figure the link fits best in this thread anyway.

Another interesting link for Post-Apocalyptic references :
Chernobyl in pictures (http://www.angelfire.com/extreme4/kiddofspeed/page2.html)
Someone visited the radioactive zones in Chernobyl and took photos.

I am facinated by Chernobyl and the region around it. I've been closely following (and eagerly awaiting) a game coming out of Russia called "Stalker: Oblivion Lost" ...it's set inside "the zone" around Chernobyl, and the team went inside the zone to get pictures for textures and map the layout of the cities. I don't have any idea about the gameplay but the graphics look stellar. Here's a link with some EXCELLENT photos of the region...check it out if you're interested!

this was a church i photographed in sicily... it's in a town called "Santa Margherita."
the town was hit by an earthquake. which literally ripped right through the center of this cathedral....
they decided to clean out the rubble and enclose the other half in glass... it was very beautiful to see in the midst of all the other destroyed buildings in town...

Pretty amazing i.was.ink. Man, I just clicked into that Urban Exploration Ring to check it out for a "few minutes" and that turned into an hour or more...no way to tell exactly HOW long I was lost in all that stuff but my butt's numb and I REALLY gotta pee (I know, thanx for sharing) and I STILL gotta get my work done before I can leave the studio. I'll be here half the night thanx to YOU, man !! (just kiddin <g> ).

This are screen shots from the stalker game. Easier to look through then on the stalker website, and it might actually have more.

In the vein of abandoned buildings and references, I would like to suggest this site:
http://www.tueam.com/flickr.html
TUEAM ("Toronto Urban Exploration and Adventure Meetup") has a wonderful photography exhibit, with new images added all the time. The photos they take can be of pretty much anything, but the majority follow the theme of abandoned buildings, factories, decay, etc.
..Wow my first post.. this ends my lurker status forever.. what shall become of me now?!

Time for some new sites!
Here are some GREAT sites for "urban exploration" and all that is abandoned and/or dilapidated!
Some of these have more than just homes/buildings/factories so make sure you poke around. ENJOY!
