I have painter 7 and I am a digital artist (www.notinpublic.com check out my stuff). My question is: Are there any new or addable surfacr textures for Painter 7? If so where do I get them? I like the cracked painted surface texture but I dont want to repeat myself to often... The only other one is the paper texture. If there isn't is there other programs where I can add a painted texture that looks convincing?
Thanx! :)

Hi,
There are 24 extra Papers libraries on Painter 7 CD 2. Look in the following folder:
Painter7CD2 > Paper Textures
You can also make custom Papers or use Patterns to add texture.
Scan just about anything and open the scan in Painter then Select > All and choose Capture Paper from the Papers section menu.
Read the Painter 7 User Guide:
Chapter 5 Applying Art Materials, the sections named Using Paper Textures and Using Patterns.
Chapter 4 Painting, the sections named Choosing Paper Texture, Setting Basic Brush Controls, and Understanding Brush Methods. Since the latter section could be slightly confusing, just remember there's the Method (i.e. Cover) and the Subcategory (i.e. Grainy Hard Cover). If the Subcategory name includes the word "Grainy" it means the brush variant will interact with Paper texture.
There are endless possibilities within Painter for creating and using Papers, Patterns, and brush variants as well as Painter Effects menu options to apply texture to any kind of image or painting.
Have fun!
